My Approach
During my over 25 years practice as a Lawyer, I met a great number of married couples who wanted to seek divorce. Majority belonged to nuclear families resulted from disintegration of extended / joint family system. On delving the reason for divorce precipitated to be trifle issues like misunderstandings due to lack of communication between the couples ,ego, false self-esteem, role distribution where both are in job etc. Obviously, such emerging situation in young couples can be traced out to absence of elderly and life experienced person in the family to understand their feelings and guide in right direction to avoid the stage of separation or divorce. My approach focuses to help persons to resolve marital conflicts amicably in a secured, empathetic, non-judgmental and safe space to nip the problem in the bud by making them understand with cool mind the social, societal and legal consequences of post-divorce life, like financial and social insecurity, neglect from family members and relatives, societal stigma, issue of custody of children and safety of young female offsprings in case of female divorcee. On being convinced, some couples make wise decision and revert from divorce while in other cases where divorce is inevitable, I help them in rehabilitation to lead respectful life. Apart from marital conflicts and family disputes, I also counsel persons about their mental health and wellbeing. According to Medical Science, Physiology and Psychology is closely related. Physiology covers how body’s systems function while Psychology deals with study of mind, behaviour and cognition (knowledge). In simple computer language Brain is Hardware and its working; Mind is Software. Brain is most important organ in the body which controls entire body activities. Obviously, most important is how we programme its software that is Mind. If we think in positive way with optimistic outlook, our body starts responding in good health whereas negative and pessimistic thoughts give rise to ill health /mental disorders. There is a good old dictum “ Healthy body keeps healthy mind”. Now the reverse is equally true that “ Healthy mind keeps the body healthy”. Obviously, our thinking or thought process reflects in our physical health. This lays the foundation stone of Positive or Negative thinking in human life. Based on scientific knowledge, I approach the clients to alleviate their mental health issues by adopting relevant supportive techniques.
